Who are you following? Following Jesus or following someone on Instagram , Facebook . Both of these come to my mind as well there were more than a few people who said the childhood game follow the leader is what popped into their heads. And man, did I love that… because wow, how simple! Who Are You Following? In this book, Sadie explores the topic of influence and who each of us allows to influence our daily lives. She draws from her experience as a social media influencer and biblical truths about finding identity and validation in Jesus. Our identity in Christ is a function of our relationship with Him. Knowing our authority and dominion in Christ Jesus makes us aware of whom we are in Him. Embracing the authority that is in Jesus reveals to us what our true identity is in Him. But believers in Christ have an identity given to them by being kno...

Abba & Sabbath. The author of Hebrews writes, “There remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his” (Heb 4:9. In this reminder hearkening back to the Old Testament, we are encouraged not to forsake entering into the rest that God models and offers to his people—a rest that points to our future and complete rest in him, a rest that is our salvation. A chiasm (also called a chiasmus) is a literary device in which a sequence of ideas is presented and then repeated in reverse order. The result is a “mirror” effect as the ideas are “reflected” back in a passage. Each idea is connected to its “reflection” by a repeated word, often in a related form. The term chiasm comes from the Greek letter chi, which looks like our letter X. Chiastic pattern is also called “ring structure.” The structure of a chiasm is usually expressed through a series of letters, each letter representing a new idea. For examp...

Satan's yoke Satan does regard the law of God. (Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (Philippians 4:8). The enemy of souls has laboured continually to make men think the law of the kingdom of God is abolished, and that the revelation of His righteousness has been altered to meet the low level of humanity; this, they believe, is the whole object of the cross; not to save men from their lawlessness, but to unite heaven with their sinfulness; They may profess a high degree of faith in the word of God, and to love the Lord Jesus, but if they clothe the carnal mind with a divine covering, and have not repented, they deceive themselves, and the truth is not in them. And once Satan has achieved this object of thus leading men to regard their sins in relati...

Divisions in Christianity? Why are there so many divisions in Christianity? Answer: Probably because there are so many different kinds of people who profess Christianity. Different people have different experiences and prefer different types of music, rites and rituals. Of course, many of the divisions have been political in nature. Some Christians view the word “doctrine” as almost a curse word. The thought process is essentially “doctrine is to be avoided because doctrine causes division among Christians, and God desires Christians to be united as it says in John 17:21.” While it is true that doctrine does cause division, if the division is due to a disagreement over an important biblical teaching, division is not necessarily a bad thing. Paul declares, “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear” (2 Timothy 4:3). Titu...

BIBLE Teaching About the Existence of "Christian" Denominations. denominational creedbooksThe gospel of Jesus records that He built one church and that all saved people were in that church. He prayed for unity and rebuked division. Denominations as we know them did not exist till centuries later. Yet today hundreds of denominations exist in the name of Christianity, claiming to be Christian. They are divided and contradict one another. This study examines the teaching of the Scriptures about the existence of denominationalism. To the average person, "Christianity" includes hundreds of different denominations that disagree with one another in name, organization, doctrine, worship, and plan of salvation. Such a situation clearly constitutes division, not unity. Yet all the denominations claim to be Christian and to follow Jesus Christ. If we really want to please God, however, we must forsake what we want and practice what He wants. Ecclesiastes 12:13 - Man's wh...
